Faculty Editor-in-Chief

Dr. Stephen Bailey is the Director of the Human Movement Laboratory in the Department of Physical Therapy Education (DPTE) at Elon University. He also serves as the research coordinator within DPTE at Elon. His main research interest is focused on cognitive and psychomotor function during prolonged exercise. Dr. Bailey also is interested in changes in physical function and perceived quality of life in patients with COPD as a result of participation in pulmonary rehabilitation. In the clinic, He has expertise in cardiopulmonary physical therapy, and is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine.

Editor-in-Chief Advisor

Randall Lazicki is currently a Senior Level Physical Therapist and Outreach Athletic Trainer for Duke Sports Medicine Physical Therapy. Dr. Lazicki graduated from Elon University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program where he was instrumental in developing the Journal of Student Physical Therapy Research and served as the first Student Editor-in-Chief. He received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Wingate University and holds certifications as a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Student Editor-in-Chief

Michelle Cusack is currently in her second year in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Elon University. Michelle graduated Magna Cum Laude from Saint Joseph’s College in Portland, ME with a bachelor’s degree as Exercise Science Specialist with a minor in Biology. Michelle is also the Elon University Representative for the APTA Student Assembly and is active in this role and with promoting the JSPTR and student involvement in the publication and peer review process at APTA events.

Lisa Brindley is currently in her second year of Elon University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program.  Lisa graduated Magna Cum Laude from Alma College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Health Science. Before entering the program at Elon, she has had experience working as a nurse aide, a physical therapy technichian, and even has some experience working as a tech in the country of Australia. Lisa is active in research having presented her senior thesis at the ACSM in 2010, and completed an independent research study in 2011 at Elon University.
